Where we come fromWhere we gohistoria
In September 1965, a group of people, mostly women, got together and decided to form a group of dancers to dance in Urretxu and for Urretxu; with the aim of propagating the local national folklore, starting from a cultural point of view and leaving aside mythification.
Since then, a great effort has been made to investigate the customs and uses in order to take the necessary steps to fulfill the initial intention as well as possible. In order to face the repression that existed at that time towards any Basque cultural expression, the group stood firm in the defense of its basic ideas, and thanks to a lot of hard work, they managed to achieve the initially agreed objectives.
