Dantzari txiki

We have already spent time touring villages outside the Basque Country and the Basque Country and cheering their streets with children in color, music and dancing. In particular, the tradition that began in 1979 has become a tradition, and we are eager to expand our dances and spread our tradition. Children are delighted to have the experience of moving to another country, where they can meet with children and their teachers who have the same purpose as us, and create new relationships throughout the day.

We have danced in countless places, though the places of recent years have been similar, and we have danced near our country, though we have gone a little farther with the elders of the group. The nearest villages are Legazpi, Zumarraga, Orereta, Galdakao, Beasain, Alsasua, Gabiri… In addition, in 2021 we stepped on Logroño with the oldest in the group.

Besides, not only do we go outside, but the dancers and musicians of other countries come to us. As every year since the 1980s, on the second or third weekend of June, we celebrate and organize the Little Dancer of Urretxu, with groups from outside dancing and cheering the streets of our country.

Activities
Weaving relationships

Not only do we dance, but we love going out so that we can strengthen our relationship and the kids can create ties between them. We have children between the ages of 3 and 16 who have fun together, of course, even better if they go outside!
In recent years we have been in Iratxe, Irrisarri Land, Baztan, or Senda Viva.

Flashmob

The pandemic stopped every dance group, the dance sessions, the rehearsals… everything stopped, and then it ended. Luckily, today, we have a chance to dance, we could teach children and we could learn, but in 2021, it was a year since the pandemic passed and rehearsals with masks, without physical contact, all that was hard.

So, with the intention of putting an end to the hard course of 2021 and taking the next one with great enthusiasm, we put the whole group together and did “Flashmove” with En Tol Sarmiento’s song “New Opportunities.” Our motto was “IN SEPTEMBER WE’LL HAVE NEW OPPORTUNITIES TO DANCE,” and so it was, In September we started with enthusiasm.
